It seems that 2016 was a wonderful year for women in business since the 2007 crisis. Over a period of 9 years, the number of women-owned companies increased to 3.5 million businesses The largest increase in employment has been observed within small companies hiring 50–99 employees.

In all these companies, there is a large number of women working in digital marketing. Here is a list of the 20 most influential women in digital marketing that you should follow.

What does it mean to know it nowadays?

This is not about millions of fans and red carpet appearances. Being known is coming from the intent of your web presence that builds the proper authority, reputation and audience to realize your potential and achieve your goals… whatever they may be.

We are living in a digital reality. Setting up social media profiles and publishing content seems easy for some. But there are many people who struggle with standing out from the crowd. What would you recommend they do in the first place?
One of the things I learned while writing this book was the importance of consistency. Starting the week and being consistent after the week can be more important than the angle or the big idea. I have several exercises in the book to explore the types of material that may be right for you and to overcome the obstacles that have been keeping you from the beginning!

Do you think that for some people, it may not be important for brands or industries to be known? Maybe for some of them, being anonymous may be even better?

This is a personal choice and I address it directly in the book. It is completely fine not to be known. It is perfectly okay to think that this is not the best time. In some ways, this is the

world’s weirdest self-help book because I very sincerely encourage people to examine their lives and determine if this is the right time and the right thing for them. The reason for doing wrong is because of pressure from others.

Too much value on many levels. How has it made things easier for you, because you are definitely someone who is known?

There have been cases where I can point to instances where I got a consulting job or speaking job because I know. Only because people buy my books, because I am known and respected and liked. In fact, the only reason you interview me is because I know. So you can see in this small example how powerful an individual brand can be. I’m not famous. But I am known in my industry to the extent that there is an advantage.

In your book, we will get contributions from many outstanding experts who share their stories about their journey in becoming known. Which of these stories has influenced you the most?

Oh my, this is such a tough question –

there are many! But there is probably a favorite man who grew up as a poor boy in a trailer park and is now a famous fashion consultant. He did so entirely on his own, using four steps in the book. I used it in the beginning of the book to inspire people to know that this man can, can’t you do it too?

Most of the people in the book started with NOTHING, and none have been born with a specialist. Isn’t it a wonderful and miraculous time where we all have the ability to publish content and create our voice, our power on the web!

What would it be if you had to recommend a daily habit to be known and add to your routine to be successful?
You need to schedule time to create content, just as you would schedule an important meeting time. You must have the discipline to start, sustain and learn and improve. Creating content on a consistent basis can be difficult, but six months from now it will be easier, at least if you take that first step and get started!
